Former BBC Radio Orkney star Dave Gray has died, with the nationwide broadcaster paying tribute to the presenter.
In a press release, the BBC wrote: 'Everyone at& BBC& Radio Orkney is grieving the sudden lack of our good friend and colleague Dave Gray, who died on Wednesday following a short sickness.
'For three many years Dave was the guts and soul of the BBC in Orkney and we'll miss him terribly.
'Our thoughts are together with his household and lots of pals at this most troublesome of occasions.'
It added: 'We can be sharing our tribute to Dave on Friday morning's Around Orkney at 7.30am.'
The news was announced on BBC Radio Orkney's official Fb and X pages, with fellow presenter and& Massive Brother& star Cameron Stout additionally reposting the announcement.
A part of the station for over 30 years, Grey hosted many programmes includingAround Orkney.
Following the announcement, listeners posted their tributes to him in the remark section.

The news comes after the shock death of BBC radio star Steve Wright last week.
