A fisherman filmed the unusually mesmerising footage of "UFO-like clouds" that he noticed close to Key West in Florida.
Resembling flying saucers hovering above the sea, the wispy layer of cloud was dotted with multiple perfectly-shaped circular, denser ones.
The fisherman sought help on social media, where he shared footage of the weird sight and requested: "Has anybody seen clouds like these earlier than? We have been fishing off Key West."
"I've seen sufficient alien invasion films to know exactly what these are," joked one individual, whereas one other responded: "UFOs, in stealth mode."
It later transpired that they're fallstreak hole – also referred to as a "gap punch cloud."
These are giant round or elliptical gaps that can appear in cirrocumulus (small, fleecy clouds) or patchy altocumulus clouds, in accordance with the National Weather Service.
