A powerful House Republican's daughter tragically passed away over the weekend. House Rules Committee Chairman Michael Burgess's oldest daughter Christine Burgess passed in her sleep, the congressman's office posted in a statement. 'It's with heavy hearts we regret to share that Congressman Burgess' eldest daughter, Christine Burgess passed away in her sleep this past weekend,' the Texas Republican's staff wrote on his X account. 'Congressman Burgess appreciates all of the thoughts & prayers & respectfully requests privacy for his family at this difficult time.
