Manhunt is under way for dangerous killer who fled from prison van during daring escape en route to court
A urgent manhunt is underway for a convicted murderer who escaped from police custody in California on Monday. Cesar Moises Hernandez, 34, fled at around 10.45am while he was being transported to a hearing at Kern County Superior Courthouse in Delano. 'Upon arrival, Hernandez evaded staff custody, jumped out of the van, and is currently at large,' the California Department of Corrections has said. Hernandez was serving a life sentence for first degree murder at North Kern State Prison after being convicted in 2019, according to the department.
