A Texas woman was arrested after deputies said she fatally shot her common-law husband and set his truck on fire before trying to escape in a kayak. Faith Paige Goynes, 40, of Texas, was arrested and charged with murder and arson after authorities discovered the body of her common-law husband, Tomas Calavera Jr., 30, in San Antonio. The investigation began when Calavera's father was notified by the Bandera County Sheriff's Office that Calhoun County officials had requested a welfare check for his son.
