Facebook Messenger is down across the world as users report issues with the app and website. Downdetector, a site that monitors online outages, shows issues hit the Meta-owned platform around 10:30am ET. The outage has hit the US and UK, parts of Europe, Australia, South America and Asia, along with other nations around the globe. As of 2025, around one billion people use Facebook Messenger, which is about 12 percent of the world's population.
