I had a charmed life up until 2010. I was travelling around the world working as an actress/director with my husband, singer/songwriter turned youth sports coach, David Alexis, in tow. My daughter Mina, now 31, was off to college at Cornell University, and my son Sylvester - Sly - now 32, was in his freshman year at UC Irvine. They had had a wonderful childhood: they went to great schools, they were both athletic and smart, and their adult lives were, I believed, laid out before them.
