Did Ole Miss really throw out Lane Kiffin's clothes on the sidewalk?

No,Ole Missdid not throwLane Kiffin's clothes on the sidewalk after the coachdecided to leave Oxford for Baton Rouge, according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation who spoke to USA TODAY Sports.

A rack of Kiffin's clothes was spotted on the sidewalk outside Ole Miss football's facility the morning of Monday, Dec. 1, prior to Kiffin's departure for LSU. Thesocial media postwith the caption "Ole Miss even put Kiffin's clothes on the street" went viral.

However a person with direct knowledge of the incident said a family member wheeled Kiffin's clothes onto the sidewalk to be transported, not anyone from Ole Miss.

The Clarion Ledger, part of the USA TODAY Network, reached out to Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter for comment.

Kiffin was introduced as LSU's football coach on Monday, Dec. 1, ending one of the most successful runs in Ole Miss history. Ole Miss, which just completed its first 11-win regular season, is expected to reach the College Football Playoff and host a playoff game. Kiffin will not coach Ole Miss during the postseason.
