Madame Tussauds London unveiled Idris Elba's wax figure
As the English actor posed with the wax replica of himself, he called his mom to get her reaction to its uncanny resemblance

PEOPLE's former Sexiest Man Alive, 53, has now been immortalized in wax form at Madame Tussauds London, the museum revealed on Dec. 19.
The English actor expressed disbelief upon laying eyes on his wax figure in an Instagram video shared by the museum. At one point, theacclaimedLutheralumandMarvel Cinematic Universestar called his mom, Eve.
"I am speechless literally. Wow. Hold on, I've got to call my mum. She's gonna freak," he said, before connecting with Eve on FaceTime.
His mom replied on the phone, "Oh, my God!"

While he was nearly speechless at the museum, the activist later issued a statement about working with Madame Tussauds London on the figure.
"It's truly an honour to be recognised in this way and even more special to know this other version of me will be standing tall in London," he said. "So, even when I'm away, a part of me is always at home."
Themusicianadded, "The process has been fascinating. It's not dissimilar to prepping for a movie role — working with talented artists to flesh out the character, getting the costume just right, but this time it's for me!"

"It's really surreal to see another version of me standing in Madame Tussauds London, it feels like a full circle moment," he concluded.
Aside from acting and activism, Idris is also a husband toSabrina, 36, and a dad todaughter Isan, 23, and son Winston, 11.
