JimmyKimmeljust found some rare common ground withPresident Donald Trump– sort of.
On the Dec. 8 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", the late-night comedian hit back at Trump after the president took multiple swipes at him over the weekend beforehosting the Kennedy Center Honors.
Ahead of the event, Trump said that Kimmel is "horrible," and "if I can't beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent" while hosting the Kennedy Center Honors, "then I don't think I should be president."
"Agreed," Kimmel shot back Monday. "I'm with you. I don't think I've ever agreed with anything more than that. Do you think he even knows I've never hosted the Kennedy Center Honors? Maybe he's confusing me with Queen Latifah?"

The comedian added, "As far as this who has more talent thing goes, it seems like he's challenging me to a contest, which, if so, I'm open to it. Let's do it. Let's have a talent competition."

Trump also told reporters on the red carpet at the Kennedy Center Honors that Kimmel is "terrible," to which the comedian responded on his show, "That is very hurtful. I thought we were friends? I don't know what's going on. He is really fixated – I'm starting to think he might have a crush on me."
Jimmy Kimmelwill remain on ABC through 2027 amid ongoing Trump feud
Kimmel's monologue was his first sinceit was confirmedthat the comedian, a prominent critic of Trump, has signed a one-year extension with ABC and will remain as host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" through May 2027.
The extension came as Trump continues to attack Kimmel and call for him to lose his job. In November, the presidentposted on Truth Socialthat "the TV Syndicates" should not "put up with" the comedian and his "totally biased coverage," writing, "Get the bum off the air!!!"
Trump has also regularly attacked other late-night hosts who criticize him on their shows, includingSeth MeyersandStephen Colbert.
In his Dec. 8 monologue, Kimmel confirmed his contract extension and acknowledged that Trump won't be happy about it.
"The last thing I want to do is upset you during this sensitive time," Kimmel said, addressing Trump. "But I have one more bit of entertainment news to share, and that is that I have decided to extend my contract here at ABC for another year."
