Wenne Alton Davis has died at age 60.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maiselactress, born Wendy Davis, was fatally hit by a car just before 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8, while crossing the street in New York City, PEOPLE can confirm. According to the NYPD, a black 2023 Cadillac XT6, driven by a 61-year-old male, was making a left-hand turn at West 53rd Street and Broadway in Midtown Manhattan when it struck Davis.
"[Davis] sustained severe trauma to the head and body," police told PEOPLE in a statement. "EMS responded and transported [Davis] to Mount Sinai West, where she was pronounced deceased."
"The operator of 2023 Cadillac XT6 remained on scene and was not injured as a result of the collision," police added. "There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad."

Edward Reynoso, one of Davis' neighbors, spoke with theNew York Daily Newsshortly after her death and revealed their last interaction earlier that day.
He recalled Davis telling him, "'I love you, I appreciate you.'"
Davis was known for her role in season 5 of the Amazon Prime hit seriesThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,in which she played a police officer. The episode, which aired in 2023, marked her last onscreen appearance.

This is the latest loss amongThe Marvelous Mrs. Maiselcast. In 2019,Brian Tarantina— who played Jackie, the emcee of the comedy club The Gaslight, where Rachel Brosnahan's Midge Maisel first drunkenly performed her routine — was found dead in his apartment.
PEOPLE reported at the time that the NYPD received a call about an unconscious person in a Manhattan apartment, where emergency medical services responded and ultimately pronounced him dead.
A rep for the actor further told PEOPLE that "Brian had been ill lately" and "was recently in the hospital and was in the process of recuperating from what I believe to be a heart-related issue."
The show's cast and crew laterpaid tributeto Tarantina in a heartfelt message on X.
"The Gaslight won't be the same without you. Thank you Brian Tarantina for sharing in all of the laughs. Sending love to his family and friends in this difficult time," the post read.
