Matt Prokop, who starred in such projects asHigh School Musical 3: Senior YearandGeek Charming, wasarrestedon Dec. 24 in Victoria County, Texas, reports PEOPLE.
He faces one count of second-degree felony possession of child pornography as well as four misdemeanor charges: one count of evading arrest or detention, one count of a violation of bond — protective order, and two counts of resisting arrest, search, or transportation.
The 35-year-old actor is currently being housed in the Victoria County Sheriff's Office Jail, an employee there told PEOPLE.

Prokop previously faced accusations of domestic abuse from his former girlfriend,Modern Familystar Sarah Hyland, with whom he starred inGeek Charming. Hylandobtained a temporary restraining order against Prokopin 2014 after she accused him of choking her and threatening to burn down her house after she ended their five-year relationship.

Prokop made his screen debut in a 2007 episode ofHannah Montana, in which he played Troy McCann. He later appeared on episodes ofThe Office,Medium,Good Luck Charlie, andIn the Motherhood. He played the son of Brendan Fraser's character in 2010'sFurry Vengeance, and later tarred with Hyland in a 2012 episode ofModern Family.
InHigh School Musical 3, Prokop portrayed Jimmie Zara, a freshman on the East High basketball team. His last screen credit was in the 2013 movieApril Apocalypse.
Prokopannouncedthat he had gotten engaged and launched an OnlyFans in a 2024 Instagram post.
Hyland recentlyreflected on surviving alleged domestic abusein a 2024 speech. "It takes courage to wake up every morning and face the world knowing that people may have no idea what you are going through," she said while acceptingVariety's Courage Award at the publication's Power of Women event. "It is all too easy to feel isolated and misunderstood, no matter how strong you are."
She also expressed her gratitude to her onscreenModern Familymom, Julie Bowen, for helping her as she ended her relationship with Prokop. "I want to support others in the way that Julie and all of my close ones have done for me," she said at the event.

Bowendiscussed supporting Hylandin a 2024 interview with theSkinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast. "I was a responsible adult that happened to be around at the right time," she said. "But, I mean, I'm sure another responsible adult would have done the exact same thing. I just love her."
