Lisa Rinna Walks Back Colton Underwood “Stalker” Comment as The Traitors Condemn Cast Harassment

Reality television star, actress, and M&M,Lisa Rinnahas publicly defended herThe Traitorsco-starColton Underwoodafter online backlash intensified following her controversial social media post. The move comes as producers of the hit Peacock series issued a stern warning against cyberbullying and harassment targeting cast members.

The drama began when Rinna called Underwood a "stalker" in a Threads post on Friday (January 23, 2026). However, theReal Housewives of Beverly Hillsalum quickly walked back her comments after the post sparked intense online harassment directed at the former Bachelor star.

"It's come to my attention that my post that I responded to in my housewife mode is taking on a life of its own and it's causing real problems for Colton,"Rinna explainedin an Instagram Stories video posted Saturday.

The 62-year-old reality star emphasized her friendship with Underwood despite their on-screen rivalry. "I do not want this because Colton and I are great. He was a great and is a great nemesis for me on the show in the game," she stated.

Rinna clarified that her original comment was made in character. "Now, as you know, if you ask me to be a housewife, I'll bring it to you, right? That's what I was doing. All in the name of the game," she said.

Meanwhile, Rinna revealed that she and Underwood have maintained communication throughout the controversy. "But, just so you know, I am totally great with Colton. I've been texting with him, we talk, everything is great," she continued.

The situation prompted The Traitors to release an official statement addressing the escalating harassment of cast members. On Saturday, the show posted a message condemning the online attacks.

"We are committed to making our casts feel safe, respected, and supported — on screen and off," the statement began. "The cast of The Traitors are real people, and what happens in the game should never lead to cyberbullying or harassment. There's a difference between discussing a show and targeting individuals."

The statement concluded with a direct appeal to viewers. "Let's not ruin the passion for this show with unwarranted negativity and personal attacks. We appreciate your support," producers wrote.

Rinna expressed remorse over her role in fueling the backlash. "The fact that the backlash is happening, I feel horrible about because I don't want to hurt anybody. I am here to play the game to have fun and Colton is a great nemesis for me," she said in a second Instagram video.

She urged fans to view the competition show differently. "Try to watch it like a sporting event, you know? Like, if you were watching football or wrestling, and just be gentle with everybody, 'cause everyone's doing the best they can," Rinna pleaded.

The controversy resurfaces past allegations against Underwood. In 2020, his ex-girlfriendCassie Randolphfiled a restraining order against him, accusing him of stalking and harassment. The restraining order was subsequently dropped months later, and the pair settled their case privately.

Underwood publicly apologized for his past behavior during a 2021 interview when he came out as gay. The current season ofThe Traitorsfeatures both Rinna and Underwood as competitors, with the two frequently clashing during gameplay.
