The league rescinded a technical foul the Los Angeles Lakers star picked up during LA's 138-117 win over the Miami Heat on Monday night. The foul, which Dončić earned in the second quarter at Crypto.com Arena, was reviewed by the league Tuesday.

That has brought Dončić to a single technical foul in eight games this season.

The incident Monday happened after Dončić reacted to a call an official made, which led to a candid conversation between Dončić and the officials on the broadcast.

"I clapped. That's a technical? Come on now," Dončić told the official. "If it was anybody else, you know it's not a technical. Come on now."

Klay Thompson hit the free throw after the technical, which brought the Heat within five points at the time.

Dončić was asked about the technical after the game, but he declined to get into it.

Dončić finished with 42 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds in the win. He's averaged 43.4 points per game over the last five outings, which included a 52-point night against the Utah Jazz late last month.

Dončić has had issues with technical fouls. He was suspended for a game last season after reaching the 16-technical foul threshold, which triggers an automatic one-game suspension. He had three straight seasons with 15 technical fouls each, and 13 during the 2024-25 campaign.

Two players in the league already have three technical fouls this season. Golden State star Draymond Green is one of them after he was ejected Monday night for an incident during the Warriors' win over the Phoenix Suns. Houston's Jabarai Smith Jr. also has three.

It's still very early in the regular season, and Dončić has a long way to go before having to worry about such a penalty again. But having Monday's rescinded undoubtedly gives him extra room to work with down the stretch.
