Canada agrees 30-day tariff reprieve in exchange for 10,000 troops on the US border
Canada has announced it has secured a 30-day tariff reprieve in exchange for nearly 10,000 troops to protect its border with America. 'Proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days while we work together,' Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said of the tense negotiations with Donald Trump. Trudeau said Canada is implementing its $1.3 billion border plan, including more troops, as well as further measures such as a Fentanyl Czar and a Canada-US Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime.
