
Judge makes shocking decision after businessman is accused of killing grocery store employee in fight over mask
A Brazilian businessman has been absolved of any wrongdoing over the death of Sandra Ribeiro, a supermarket supervisor who was shot dead by a security guard he attempted to disarm during a fight. Paraná judge Priscila Crocetti ruled that Danir Garbosa was not capable of understanding his own actions because he suffers from Huntington's disease, a mental illness that causes mood swings and cognitive decline. The incident took place on April 28, 2020, when Garbosa was stopped at the entrance of the supermarket in the southern city of Araucária.
