Trump makes awkward U-turn after firing federal workers without realizing crucial defense role
Donald Trump has had to make a quick reversal on firing hundreds of workers who oversee America's nuclear arsenal. About 1,200 to 2,000 workers at the Department of Energy were laid off on Friday, as he continues to keep his promise to cut DC's waste alongside Elon Musk's DOGE. That included 325 from the National Nuclear Security Administration, which looks after the nuclear stockpile and material worldwide, sources said.
