Donald Trump takes action against Maine in ongoing fight over transgender athletes ban
The Donald Trump administration is investigating the state of Maine with a claim that dozens of school districts violate federal law by withholding information about students transitioning genders from parents. The Department of Education launched an investigation on Friday after it began a similar search into the California Department of Education. In both cases, the federal education department claimed the states might be in violation of the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act.
