Nantucket locals distraught as beloved mom-and-pop diner is razed to make way for BOWLING ALLEY
A beloved Nantucket restaurant that was open for 90 years was destroyed to make way for a new development that will include a bowling alley. The Downyflake building was demolished on Thursday as the restaurant owners announced they will not be reopening in the new mixed-use development set to replace it, reported the Nantucket Current. The new development will feature two buildings that include 32 housing units, a restaurant and an eight-lane bowling alley.
