On Thursday, Dec. 18, the English comedian, 50, spoke onstage at aTurning Point USAevent in Phoenix, where he brought up his ex-wife, 41, and the politician, 53, while addressing the crowd.
"Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still, and I'm glad that her mom's in the room to hear me say this, but look. I was okay withOrlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? Come on, man! Don't put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge,"Brand said.

Perry and Brand were married from 2010 until 2012, withBrand filing for divorce.
The pop star and Bloom, 48, met at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016 before the former couplegot engaged in 2019. In June 2025, the paircalled off their engagementafter nine years together. They are parents to daughterDaisy Dove Bloom, whom they welcomed in August 2020.
Earlier this year, Brand wascharged with five counts of assault and rapecharges stemming from allegations from four women.
Hissexual assault accusationsfirst came in September 2023, when five women spoke on their alleged experiences in a joint investigation byThe Sunday Times,The Timesand Channel 4 current affairs showDispatches.
One woman alleged she was raped by the actor in a town in the south of England in 1999. Other alleged incidents happened in London in 2001, and between 2004 and 2005.
Brand has denied the accusations, saying he"absolutely refutes"the claims.
Perry and Trudeau sparked relationship rumors in July 2025 when they were spotted on a datein Montreal, Canada.

At the time, a source told PEOPLE the pair had an "instant connection."
"They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes," the source said. "She is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common."
