Veteran broadcaster Al Michaels will return to the booth to call NFL games for Prime Video next season, according to a report fromSports Business Journal.
Michaels, 81, has been the lead play-by-play caller since Amazon acquired the "Thursday Night Football" package in 2022 and has been calling pro football games for the past four decades.
"First of all, I feel great," Michaels told SBJ. "Everyone at Amazon has been fantastic and I love working with this group. I've been looking at this year one year at a time and as long as I feel I'm at the top of my game, I'd like to continue."

Michaels, known for some of the most iconic sports broadcasting calls in history, including the "Miracle on Ice," will be on the call for Saturday's NFC Wild Card game between theGreen Bay Packersand Chicago Bears. His usual teammates, analyst Kirk Herbstreit and sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung, will also work the assignment from Soldier Field.
Michaels' last call for a Bears playoff game came in 2019 when he worked for NBC Sports and Chicago hosted thePhiladelphia Eaglesin the NFC Wild Card. The Eagles won 16-15 when Cody Parkey's 43-yard potential game-winning field goal attempt suffered the dreaded "double doink" with the ball hitting the left upright and then bouncing off the crossbar, before falling to the turf.
