It's no secret that Jeff Bezos, who founded Amazon in 1994, is one of the richest men in the world and a very active member of the billion-dollar oligarch club. In fact, he tends to hover in the top five wealthiest humans on the planet, after Elon Musk and in the company of Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page, Larry Ellison and Warren Buffett.

Consider This: If Mark Zuckerberg's Wealth Were Evenly Distributed Across America, How Much Money Would Every Person Get?

But what if one day, Bezos decided to dismantle his empire and liquidate his assets to give everyone in the United States an equal share? GOBankingRates is checking the math to see how much money every American would have if every citizen got a piece of Bezos' wealth.

The Number of People in the US

Based on the U.S. Census Bureau's tracking and data, the total American population is at 340.1 million as of October 2025. The numbers show that about one American is born every 9 seconds while another one dies about every eleven seconds, so the rate of growth and loss are fairly in step with one another.

Theoretically, each of these people would receive an equal share of Bezos' fortune in a perfect world under ideal circumstances. In the real world, that could prove to be a Herculean task; however, for the sake of experimentation, everyone accounted for in the population will receive the same amount of Bezos' wealth at the same time on the same day.

Trending Now: I Asked ChatGPT What Would Happen If Billionaires Paid Taxes at the Same Rate as the Middle Class

The Amount of Money

Currently, Bezos is ranked the fourth richest person in the world with a net worth estimated around $234 billion. He is also considered to be one of the few people to be included in the $100 Billion Club.

Using that figure and dividing it by the population of America, each person in the country would receive a sum in the range of $688. While that might not be a lot of money to some in the current economy, it would act similarly to a stimulus check or perhaps a holiday bonus.

What It Takes To Earn Bezos' Wealth

Bezos started from fairly humble beginnings and is now one of the richest people in the world. It might sound impossible to ever reach a salary that could cultivate wealth like Bezos' in the long term, but it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility if you build for the future and not just for today.

"Bezos doesn't make decisions based on what looks good this quarter; he's thinking in five, 10, sometimes even 20-year timelines," said Jamie Wall, a personal finance strategist at Gamblizard. "Amazon didn't turn a profit until 2003, nearly a decade after it launched and seven years after going public."

"For regular people, this means not basing every financial or career decision on short-term wins," Wall concluded. "Gaining wealth isn't a sprint, it's a marathon."

It's not uncommon for small households on tight budgets to shop at Dollar Tree. The discount retailer carries everything from groceries to personal care products at low prices to save money. And in some cases, bulk buying online at Dollar Tree can be cheaper than a big-box retailer or warehouse club.

So, what can you snag at Dollar Tree for better value? GOBankingRates referenced our several existing articles stacking up Dollar Tree products to those sold at stores like Walmart, Target and Costco to see which items are the best bargains at Dollar Tree.

Also, take a look at Dollar Tree's four hidden name brands.

Trending Now: Suze Orman's Secret to a Wealthy Retirement--Have You Made This Money Move?

Batteries

You save more money buying five packages of E-Circuit AAA batteries at Dollar Tree than you would at Costco picking up Duracell coppertop AAA batteries.

Be Aware: 4 Items With Greater Value at Dollar Tree Than Target

Let's break it down. An eight-count package of E-Circuit AAA batteries is $1.50. Five packages would mean you'd have 40 batteries and would have paid $7.50 for the lot. At Costco, a 40-count pack of Duracell AAA batteries is $19.99. That's more than double the amount paid at Dollar Tree.

©Dollar TreeDental Floss

Both Target and Dollar Tree carry Grin Oral Care brand dental floss, but the better deal is still at Dollar Tree. A 60-count bag of double flossers costs $1.25 compared to spending $3.49 at Target for 60 flossers.

©Dollar TreeDeodorant

Walmart and Dollar Tree are often neck and neck when it comes to good bargains.

Each retailer carries Old Spice pure sport high endurance deodorant, but Walmart's is so much more expensive at $6.38 for a 0.5-ounce tube. The same deodorant brand costs $1.25 at Dollar Tree and comes in a slightly bigger 0.8-ounce size.

©Dollar TreeTrash Bags

You can find bulk packages of 13-gallon trash bags at Dollar Tree and Costco, but only one retailer has a final total that stinks.

Initially, Costco's Kirkland Signature offering seems like the better deal at $19.99 for a box of 200 bags. Dollar Tree's essentials brand features 35 trash bags for $1.50. Purchasing six sets of trash bags means shoppers walk away having paid $9 and end up with 210 bags.

©Dollar TreeLoaf Pans

Loaf pans are the cheapest at Dollar Tree compared to any big-box retailer.

The Cooking Concepts loaf pan is equipped to cook up everything from bread to meatloaf and at $1.25 apiece, it's comfortably low priced to stock up on several pans at once. Similar loaf pans for sale at Walmart can cost $3.24 for the Mainstays brand and as much as $7.99 for the GoodCook label at Target.

©Dollar TreeBody Lotion

Think you can find a retailer that sells Dermasil dry skin lotion any cheaper than Dollar Tree's $1.25 pricing? We doubt it.

Exhibit A: A three-pack of lotions costs $9.99 at Target. Exhibit B: Walmart charges $9.99 online for two bottles of lotion. Considering that all the lotions mentioned are the same brand and size, it makes the most sense for your wallet to buy this skincare essential only from Dollar Tree.

©Dollar TreeDustpan and Brush

Cleaning supplies are notorious for quickly adding up, so it's always a good idea to shop around for the best deal.

A nesting dustpan and brush can be purchased at Dollar Tree for the low price of $1.50. Meanwhile, Great Value's dustpan set retails online for $6.48 at Walmart.

Editor's note: Prices and availability are accurate as of Oct. 17, 2025, and are subject to change.

*EW's BINGE* podcast is back, back, back again with a new season diving deep into the herstory of *RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars*.

The new batch of episodes kicks off (below) with a *RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 1* recap featuring Jujubee and Alexis Mateo spilling tea on the season's wildest secrets — including a major reveal that the latter considered leaving the competition before it even began.

"It brought me back to, you know at recess when you're playing dodgeball and you're the last one picked? I was like, what if nobody picks me!" Jujubee jokes of the season's gaggy twist that saw the queens enter the Werk Room alone, but compete in pairs they had to sort themselves into.

Jujubee ended up pairing with season 2 alum Raven, while Mateo joined forces with her season 3 sister (and current *All Stars 6* competitor) Yara Sofia, and while she looks back on the partnership with affection now, the initial shock of the twist nearly sent her sashaying away on her own accord.

"I'm easy to make a decision to go," Mateo remembers, adding that she "fiercely" debated checking out of the contest. "If you go back and look at it, I go back and look at that door several times!"

**Other highlights from this episode include:**

- The queens reflect on Pandora Boxx's reaction to pairing up with controversial queen Mimi Imfurst (and their attempts to soothe her emotions off-camera).

- Mateo explains the story behind her famous "act a fool, girl" clash in *Untucked*.

- Mateo gives an update on her infamous military boyfriend from season 3.

- Jujubee savors the memory of squirting whipped cream down an unsuspecting stranger's pants during the outdoor prank challenge (Mateo also has some feelings on this).

- Both queens dish on the matchup-within-a-matchup on the makeover episode, which saw Jujubee and Raven lightly tussling with actress Kady Z over her drag reinvention.

- Mateo tells us how she really felt when Sofia tag-teamed the lip-sync by pushing "*the* button."

- Jujubee reveals how she and Raven mounted one of the most emotional lip-syncs in *Drag Race* herstory, set to Robyn's "Dancing on My Own."

- Both queens kiki over a hilarious, hangry memory of a time the cast banded together in solidarity because they really wanted Popeye's (and Jujubee confirms she did, in fact, get fried chicken after the Raven lip-sync).

If you look back at the Blue Jays–Yankees rivalry this year, it's been all about Toronto's dominance on the field. They took the season series 8–5 and even knocked the Yankees out of the ALDS. But off the field, the Yankees didn't exactly stay quiet. We've heard plenty of back-and-forth from broadcasters on both sides. And with just one game left in the World Series, it's clear this rivalry is nowhere near cooling down.

And now, just as the Jays' sloppy baserunning cost them Game 6, an old comment from their own broadcaster, Buck Martinez, made back in September, has come back to bite them. "The Yankees," Martinez said, "They're not a good team. I don't care what their record is. They have a lot of wild pitches, they make a lot of mistakes in the field, and they don't run the bases very well."

Can you relate the statement to what the Jays did tonight in Game 6? You are not alone if you can, because SI's Joe Randazzo also found an uncanny resemblance.

Notably, the Blue Jays went into Game 6 with a 3–2 series lead and just one win away from being crowned champions. But things unraveled fast. It started with a questionable call to intentionally walk Shohei Ohtani, which opened the door for a three-run inning by the Dodgers.

Still, the Jays had a shot late. Down 3–1 in the ninth, Addison Barger ripped a double that put two runners in scoring position with no outs.

Now, with runners on second and third, the Dodgers made a bold move. They pulled rookie closer Roki Sasaki and brought in Tyler Glasnow, who was supposed to start a potential Game 7. Glasnow shut it down… First, a pop-up from Ernie Clement, then a flyout from Andres Gimenez. And then finally, the disaster!!!

Barger strayed too far off second, and Kike Hernandez nailed him on the basepaths to end the game. An unwarranted move to gift the Dodgers a double-play when there should have been only one out.

And just like that, a brutal baserunning mistake cost the Jays their championship moment. What's worse is that Buck Martinez's old comment about the Yankees came back to haunt them at the worst possible time.

The Blue Jays are back to basics for Game 7

Well, with the World Series now tied, all eyes are on the do-or-die Game 7. And guess what, the Blue Jays are turning to their battle-tested veteran, Max Scherzer, hoping he's got one more big performance left in him. If you remember, Scherzer started Game 3, giving up three runs over 4⅓ innings. So yes, he's not in his prime anymore, but he's shown he can still deliver when it matters, like his strong outing in the ALCS (5⅔ innings, two runs).

Meanwhile, there might even be some good luck in play. Why? Because the last time a Game 7 closed out a World Series was back in 2019, and guess who was on the mound? Max Scherzer, pitching for the Nationals, went on to beat the Astros 6–2. So, the Jays would love nothing more than to see history repeat itself.

That said, their bats will have to wake up…

Toronto's powerful offense was silent in Game 6. They just managed one run, and even a veteran like Scherzer can't win without run support. So now, after Buck Martinez's old comments about the Yankees' baserunning came back to haunt the Jays, they'll be hoping his jab about the Yankees' lack of home runs doesn't come true for them next.

The Los Angeles Dodgers returned to Toronto in deep trouble for Game 6 of the World Series with their backs against the wall after losing back-to-back Games 4 and 5 at home. A single loss could cost them the series. The team was struggling, and the pressure was so high that Manager Dave Roberts made drastic changes to the lineup and even moved struggling Mookie Betts down in the order in an "all hands on deck" situation.

And everything pays off; they survived the hot pressure cooker game 3-1 and just saved their season, all thanks to one man. Yoshinobu Yamamoto. This was the second time Yamamoto saved them. First, when the Dodgers were trailing 1-0 at the start of the series after an 11-4 Blue Jays rout, Yamamoto got the Dodgers back in the series with a complete game masterpiece, allowing only one run in his 105 pitches. And now, once again, when the Dodgers' season was on the brink of elimination. This time, the Japanese ace allowed only one run and struck out six in his six stellar innings to earn the win and force the series to a final Game 7.

This heroic effort made a big impression and especially caught the eye of David Ortiz. So, the three-time World Series champion and current FOX analyst said, "Let me make myself clear. If the Dodgers win the World Series tomorrow, Yamamoto is my MVP. Without a doubt," after the game. It's high praise, and the Red Sox Legend goes against the general norm by simply snubbing Shohei Ohtani for Yamamoto.

"I think the Dodgers wouldn't be where they are without him. I mean, this is a guy… It's like you say. Their confidence level raised up today because he was on the mound," Big Papi continued.

"And this is a guy that the other day, two days after his outing, complete game, he was ready to come out of the bullpen. This is a real trooper, guy. This is the guy that throughout the history of MLB, you can bring him in 1940, in the 90s when we played, and now in 2025, when pitchers seem like they are ready to pitch only five innings in a game."

Ortiz's bold call for Yamamoto certainly makes sense, but when Ohtani is already present in this list, one can't put anyone else over him before the final call, at least in this generation..

Why Snubbing Ohtani is such a big deal?

Ohtani started Game 1 of the World Series with a home run in a loud Toronto ballpark. But his true masterpiece was Game 3, where he reached base nine times in the 18-inning marathon. That feat had not been seen in 83 years and also tied a 119-year-old record with four extra-base hits.

Ohtani became so feared in that game that the Blue Jays Manager intentionally walked him four straight times and said he would continue to do so for the rest of the series. Though he didn't walk him once for the next 2 games, his impact on the field was monstrous. And after that historical performance, the Unicorn started Game 4 on the mound the next day, on very little rest, less than 24 hours.

Though he battled on the mound, but took the loss after allowing Vladimir Guerrero Jr a two-run go-ahead homer that shifted the momentum in the Jays' 6-1 win in Game 4. And the physical toll was visible for the next three games of the series, where he went 1-for-10. But despite that, Ohtani's overall numbers remain monstrous with a batting line of .318/.500/.864, resulting in a 1.364 OPS with 7 hits, 3 home runs, 3 doubles, driving in 5 runs, and drawing 8 walks (5 of them intentional) in the six games of the World Series so far.

Now, all eyes will be on Game 7, where Manager Dave Roberts has opened the door for everything. Ohtani could start the game on the mound and might pitch two to four innings. If not, then he could also relieve and then move to the outfield. And even he can come close to the game that he did during Japan's WBC win against the United States.

And after seeing him hit three homers and punch out 10 batters while pitching six shutout innings in the NLCS Game 4, where he won the NLCS, only depending on this Game, it will be a blasphemy if we conclude so soon.

Jeremy Strong wasn't actually listening to Bruce Springsteen when filming a scene from the Grammy-winning musician's upcoming musical biopic, *Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.*

Writer-director Scott Cooper asked the Emmy-winning actor, who stars as Springsteen's manager and producer Jon Landau in the film, to share the tune that was really playing during the pivotal moment, as part of **'s *Around the Table* video series.

"What were you listening to the first time we got the mastering correct?" Cooper asked, in the video above.

"I wanted it to be a moment of real exhilaration and almost euphoria, so I asked them to put on 'Whoomp! (There It Is),'" Strong replied, referring to hip-hop duo Tag Team's iconic 1993 single. "And when that came on, it really — it does it every time. If you put it on right now!"

Jeremy Allen White, who plays Springsteen in the film, interjected, "Joy, every time."

"Every time I see that scene, I think of that," Cooper replied. "It's amazing."

Strong went on to praise the director for always allowing the cast to do "whatever it takes" to make a scene really sing — even if it means putting on a different track. He added, "Sometimes you have to find intuitive ways to make something real."

Based on Warren Zanes' 2023 book of the same name, *Deliver Me From Nowhere* follows a wayward Springsteen as he comes to terms with his past, present, and future while crafting his 1982 album, *Nebraska*. The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, and Odessa Young.

Earlier in their conversation, Strong explained that it would've been "impossible to be listening to *Nebraska* in those takes." Instead, he noted, "I picked other songs that would just wash over me and affect me in a certain way that I didn't see coming and couldn't possibly prescribe."

Which Cooper fully understood. "Because you had heard *Nebraska* so many times," he reasoned.

That doesn't mean, however, Strong isn't a big fan of Springsteen's critically acclaimed record. "*Nebraska* is one of my favorite albums, and it touches the marrow of life in the way that very few pieces of music do," he said.

Consistent profitability is in sight

Shopify has established itself as a leader in e-commerce, providing merchants with all the tools they need to set up and run an online storefront. Shopify makes the task easy without sacrificing quality. No expertise in coding is required, although it is at the discretion of each merchant to use their skills in this arena if they so desire. Shopify, though, offers basic, highly customizable templates even a newbie can manage.

Shopify also provides services that make merchants' lives easier, including marketing, sales data analytics, inventory and fulfillment management, and more.

The surge in online retail has been a powerful tailwind for Shopify. And over the past few years, the company has proven that it can overcome challenges. Shopify saw revenue and earnings growth decline significantly due to economic issues. It made changes that allowed it to bounce back, including eliminating its expensive (and low-margin) logistics unit and raising prices.

These have paid off and pushed Shopify closer to consistent profitability than ever, as free cash flow also continues to move in the right direction.

The company could maintain that momentum over the next 12 months, especially as recent developments could help boost gross merchandise volume (GMV) on its platform, leading to higher revenue for Shopify.

The company made a deal with OpenAI that will allow merchants to sell items directly on ChatGPT. Beyond the impact on Shopify's financial results, it once again shows its focus on finding more ways to make its ecosystem even more attractive to its clients by giving them another channel to reach customers.

That's what has helped Shopify reach a more than 12% market share in the U.S. by GMV.

The long-term view

Plenty of things could happen in the next few months that would disrupt Shopify's business and sink its stock price. It's always challenging to predict which way the market -- or any specific corporation -- is going to move over a short period. So, Shopify might not crush broader equities next year.

But even if it doesn't, the stock remains a buy, as it is poised for enormous long-term growth. Though e-commerce seems ubiquitous by now, it has captured only a modest share of the U.S. retail market, just 16.3% as of the second quarter.

Where will that peak? It's hard to tell, but the world is increasingly going digital for many reasons. For one, it's better for businesses. They can reduce overhead costs by maintaining a strong online presence and passing those savings on to customers through lower prices. Consumers benefit from a larger pool of options, not to mention the convenience of buying items with a few clicks while sitting on the couch at home.

In other words, the e-commerce industry is on a long-term growth path. Shopify should benefit from it, having built a strong brand and high switching costs.

Merchants who have spent time and money building online storefronts with Shopify won't be inclined to jump ship to a competing provider. So, Shopify should retain most of its clients. Shopify's footprint spans more than 175 countries, the overwhelming majority of which have e-commerce markets that are far less penetrated, granting it attractive worldwide growth prospects.

The company is racing toward profitable growth while tapping into a massive whitespace and expanding its competitive advantage. Shopify has the qualities of a stock likely to deliver superior returns to patient investors.
