But it also revealed a new rival to traditional pollsters, one that left them in the dust — online betting platforms. Ahead of Election Day 2024, many pollsters eyed the race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris as a statistical dead head, whereas Kalshi, Polymarket and other betting platforms gave the Republican a roughly 65-35 lead.
