
"Promising" young French skier Margot Simond has died at 18 following a crash during a training session on Thursday, April 24. The teenager died while training in Val D'isere, France, according to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). In a post on social media, the FIS remembered Simond as "a promising young athlete from the Savoie Ski Committee and the Club des Sports des Saisies." "Our thoughts are with the French Ski Federation, the Savoie Ski Committee, the Club des Sports des Saisies, and the entire ski community, who are deeply affected by the loss of Margot," the federation said.
