After breaking records andtopping charts, it's a matter of when, not if,the voices behind Huntr/Xwill be back in the studio.
Speaking to reporters backstage at the2026 Golden Globe Awardson Sunday, Jan. 11, EJAE confirmed she, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami "definitely" want to make more music together post-"KPop Demon Hunters."
"We're all individually our own songwriters and artists. These two especially are incredible artists themselves," she said. "Nothing's, like, official. But are you kidding? We're friends, and we're definitely going to work on more music together."
Days after news of anupcoming sequelbecame public, the Netflix animated smash hit snaggedtwo Golden Globe trophies, for best animated film and best original song ("Golden").
When askedabout whether the creative team is feeling any pressure with a second "Demon Hunters" film, producer Michelle Wong said they're focusing on celebrating all the accolades coming their way.
"Right now, we're just focusing on the awards season and all of the accolades and support from our fans and our community," Wong said in the press room.
After releasing in June, "KPop Demon Hunters" quickly took on a life of its own, garnering an avid fanbase and becoming themost-watched Netflix filmof all time. Fans also couldn't get enough of the soundtrack, quickly rocketing "Golden" into Spotify's 1 billion streams club.
The dance track landed in seventh onSpotify's most-streamed tracks in the worldin 2025.
However, this wasn't a story of an overnight success, according to EJAE.
"For a long time, as a kid, I was working for 10 years and [it was] another 10 years of writing, so it was just a long period. But I always felt like hard work didn't pay off for the longest time," the singer/songwriter said backstage at the Globes.

"And right now, with this film, we all worked so, so hard – everyone, every single cast and crew," she continued. "So to see that [the movie is] getting this much love just proves that hard work does pay off and you've just got to keep going."
