Moment 'fraudster who stole dead man's identity' is hit with instant karma trying to buy two SUVs before surprise arrest
An alleged identity thief has been arrested seconds after thinking he got away with buying two cars in a dead man's name. William Hayes, 63, was filmed grinning ear-to-ear as he shook hands with a car dealer at Gossett Kia in Memphis on August 10. Staff gave him a round of applause after he dropped $158,885 on two Kia Telluride SUVs, and told him, 'Congratulations, my friend.' But the smile was wiped off Hayes' face moments later when police walked in and handcuffed him, with the keys still in his pocket.
