Julien's Auctions held their Friends 30th Anniversary Auction on Monday where a studio-made reproduction of the iconic couch from the opening credits sold for an eye-popping $29,250. The orange velvet sofa - which was initially estimated to fetch $2K-$3K - featured carved brown resin paneling lacquered to look wooden and copper-color tassels adorning the front skirt. The couch was prominently featured at the fictional coffee shop Central Perk where the 'six 20-something pals navigated the pitfalls of work, life, and love in Manhattan' during all 10 seasons (spanning 1994-2004) of the beloved NBC sitcom.
