Iran has expressed fury over the reported killing of a top Hezbollah commander in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut, edging the Middle East closer to the brink of all-out war. Israel's military said it had carried out a 'targeted strike' on the Lebanese capital, but the Iranian embassy in Beirut has labelled the attack 'Israeli madness that crossed all lines'. Senior Hezbollah terror cell commander Ibrahim Aqil, who had a a $7 million bounty placed on him by the US for his role in 1980s terror attacks on Americans in Lebanon, was reportedly targeted and killed in the strike.
