Pete Davidson is thinking ahead to a more technological future.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the actor and comedian, 31, reveals the tech inventions he is looking forward to, as well as one he no longer is.
"I'm still waiting for the hoverboard," Davidson — who is partnering with Amazon for Alexa+ — says.
"We got close. Remember those boards they had, but then they just started exploding?" he continues, referring to the self-balancing devices that faced technological issues in recent years.

As for one futuristic advancement he was once excited about, but isn't anymore? "Flying cars," Davidson says.
"When I was a kid, they sounded really cool, but now that I actually drive, that would be a f------nightmare," he continues. "So I hope nobody ever creates flying cars."

Flying cars have been a staple in various movies and television series, including Blade Runner, Back to the Future, The Jetsons and more. Recently, such modes of transportation have been tested, including the Pivotal BlackFly, an electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (eVTOL).
Dan Neil of The Wall Street Journal recently recounted taking a test flight of one after completing a four-day training session. The flights, the outlet reported, are 20 minutes long, with speeds of up to 55 knots and a weight limit of 200 lbs. There are also no age requirements for potential pilots.
While Davidson may have to wait a bit longer to see certain technological advancements come to fruition, he can, for the time being, enjoy Amazon's latest improvement to Alexa, its cloud-based voice assistant.
Alexa+, which uses generative AI to be more conversational, personalized and proactive — and is free with Prime — is "nice" and "reliable," Davidson tells PEOPLE.
"I don't have social media and I don't like reading news on my phone, so I'll just ask Alexa, like, 'Hey, is there anything big happening right now that I ? Or what's the weather?' " he continues. "It's just an Alexa on steroids."
The Saturday Night Live alum is even on board with Alexa+ now being "a little sassy," explaining, "It's more, I guess, human."
