Harbaugh has accepted a five-year offerto become the Giants' next coach, multiple people familiar with the agreement told USA TODAY Sports. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because a deal had not yet been finalized.
Harbaugh's hiringcomes just a day after he had a lengthy meeting with the franchise on Jan. 14. He was expected to then meet with theTennessee Titansand Atlanta Falcons to discuss their openings, but the Giants were able to close the deal before those meetings occurred.
The exact value of Harbaugh's dealis not yet known, butFox Sports' Jordan Schultzreports it is expected to be "near $100 million."

Grading John Harbaugh to the Giants
Harbaugh is giving the Giants something they have lacked for the better part of a decade: stability at the head coaching position.
The Giants have cycled through four full-time coaches and two interims since parting with Tom Coughlin following the 2015 NFL season. Brian Daboll was the only member of the group to last more than two seasons, and the sextet has combined to post a 55-109-1 record – good for a .358 winning percentage – with the team.
By comparison, Harbaugh posted a 180-113 record across his 18 seasons with the Ravens. He had just three losing campaigns over that span and his .614 winning regular-season winning percentage ranks 36th among the 207 qualified coaches in NFL history.
Harbaugh also has a 13-11 postseason record. He notably led the Ravens to a Super Bowl 47 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the famous "Harbowl" against his brother, Jim.
Harbaugh won't just provide the Giants with a proven winner. One of the reasons Harbaugh was able to enjoy success with both quarterbacks? He and the Ravens staff weren't afraid to tailor Baltimore's offense to each player's strengths. The Giants will be hoping Harbaugh can similarly build a system that emphasizes the strengths ofJaxson Dart, who flashed as a rookie after being selected with the 25th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Harbaugh's offensive coordinator hire will be critical in shaping that strategy, so reports that he is trying to bringTodd Monkento New York should encourage Giants fans. Monken is a respected assistant who spent the last three seasons as Baltimore's offensive coordinator. He helped turn the Ravens' passing offense from middle-of-the-road to explosive by getting the team's playmakers in space both vertically and horizontally.
The Giants may soon learn that attracting quality staffers is another of the main draws of hiring Harbaugh. The 63-year-old has routinely employed high-end assistants during his career. He recently had Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald on staff as his defensive coordinator and previously teamed up with assistants like Jim Caldwell, Gary Kubiak and Steve Spagnuolo, who all had head coaching experience.
All that's to say that Harbaugh seems like the perfect candidate to rebuild the Giants' operation. He should be able to use his previous coaching experience to build a sustainable development system around New York's top young players and help the franchise progress toward being a perennial playoff contender again.
