An Alaska Airlines flight had to abort takeoff after nearly colliding with another plane, causing it to blow out its tires after the pilot slammed on the brakes. The incident happened at Nashville International Airport on Thursday when the Seattle-bound plane had to jump on the brakes to avoid a Southwest Airlines jet. Officials said the Alaska Airlines flight had received clearance for takeoff at the same time that the Jacksonville flight was cleared to cross the same runway.
