Major shipping company that hauls for US Postal Service abruptly shuts down
A trucking and logistics company that had a contract with the US Postal Service (USPS) has abruptly shut. Midwest Transport, headquartered in Robinson, Illinois, told more than 650 employees, including over 480 drivers, that it is shutting down operations, Former drivers told industry website FreightWaves that they received calls from regional managers late Thursday with the grim news. They were then told all USPS-rlated trips would be completed by Sunday.
