McDonald's confirms major change to fan-favorite $5 value meal

Most McDonald's restaurants nationwide have extended their $5 value meal into December in a bid to gain more lower-income customers. The meal consists of a McDouble or McChicken, small fries, four-piece chicken nuggets, and a small drink. The fast-food giant made the decision after 80 percent of local franchises voted to extend the deal until the end of the year, CNBC reported. 'The extension of the $5 Meal Deal, and the other offerings we're announcing for our fall line-up, are just a few of the ways we're working hard to offer great meals at a fair price,' said Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald's USA, in a press release Thursday.
