Shoppers race for 50% off bargains at bankrupt discount retailer as a third of its 1,400 stores lined up for closure
Shoppers are racing to Big Lots - as it launches clearance sales amid hundreds of store closures. The discount home good retailer on Monday filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and it has now emerged it plans to shutter at least 550 of its 1,389 locations. In court filings, bosses said they will close a further 250 stores by January. That is on top of the 315 closures announced in August.
