The presidential race debates are now over - as far as we know - after last night's low-key vice presidential showdown between Republican Donald Trump's running mate Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance and democratic Vice President Kamala Harris choice for veep Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. The CBS-hosted debate was nearly overshadowed by the escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, with Iran lobbing some 200 missiles at Israel, especially Tel Aviv, nearly all of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system.
