Doctors warn 130,000 Americans are living with undiagnosed advanced cancer: 'Ticking time bomb'
America is staring down the barrel of an explosion in late stage cancers after over 100,000 cases were missed during the Covid pandemic. Doctors suspected for years that the disruptions to healthcare and lockdowns led to fewer diagnoses in the early days of the pandemic. Now, they've put a number on it, finding that nearly 130,000 cancers were missed in 2020 and 2021, or 9 percent less than the expected number.
