An elderly widower in Canada was scammed out of $27,000 by 'ruthless' builders who left her roof in a worse state than before. Patrice Stephens-Bourgeault, who was widowed just seven months prior and suffers a painful disability, discovered she had fallen victim to a roofing scam in the Scarborough neighborhood in Toronto. She recalled watching a similar story last month about another neighbor in the area, Sita Dubeau, who paid the roofers $158,000 and they never returned to do the job.
