At least one Israeli soldier was killed this morning when their unit was ambushed by a contingent of Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon, hours after the group launched more than 100 rockets into Israel. The militant group claimed it confronted Israeli troops who were infiltrating the villages of Adaisseh and Maroun al-Ras, inflicting losses and causing them to retreat. Israeli officials confirmed one IDF soldier was killed in action, while sources told The Times that a commando unit sustained multiple casualties when they were ambushed as they approached a tunnel close to Adaisseh.
