McDonald's customers are buying less of their most iconic menu item as chain sounds alarm
Americans are cutting down on the most iconic menu item at McDonald's - its french fries. Amid rising prices, customers are increasingly cutting back at fast food chains and are buying smaller portions of fries. So much so, that it is beginning to hurt french fry suppliers, CNN reported. Lamb Weston, the largest producer of fries in North America and a major supplier to fast food chains and grocery stores, is closing a production plant in Washington due to slowing customer demand for the side.
