Incredible story behind Antiques Roadshow guest's diamond ring with a whopping valuation
A recent Antiques Roadshow guest brought her mother's beautiful diamond engagement ring to get appraised, but the story behind the piece of jewelry was perhaps even more eye-catching than the ring itself. The guest, donning a gray Arkansas sweatshirt, explained that her father bought the ring for her mother after she nearly drowned in the Arkansas River sometime in the 1980s. The stunning diamond ring cost $5,000 at the time, but the appraiser, Sarah Churgin, said that it was today worth around $70,000.
