Weather advisories have been issued in nine states as Winter Storm Enzo threatens the South with ice and snow. Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, the Carolinas and Virginia are all under winter weather alerts today into Wednesday. Meteorologists warned locals to expect one to eight inches in these regions. By midweek, snowfall totals across the south could trump the average annual snowfall in Antarctica. This frozen region only receives about two inches of precipitation per year, according to the US Antarctic Program.
