Jaylen Waddle landing spots: Steelers, Giants, best fits amid trade rumors

The Miami Dolphins are off to a 2-6 start in 2025, and many anticipate significant organizational changes for the team soon.

At the very least, the Dolphins figure to be sellers ahead of the NFL's Nov. 4 trade deadline. Numerous key Dolphins players – including Bradley Chubb, Minkah Fitzpatrick and more – have been mentioned in trade rumors, but many NFL fans are wondering whether wide receiver Jaylen Waddle could end up being moved.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Oct. 18 that "several teams have called the Dolphins" and inquired about Waddle's services. Thus far, Miami has shown "no interest" in trading Waddle, but that could change as the organization heads for what could be a significant teardown.

If Waddle does end up on the trading block, several teams will be interested in the speedster's services. Below is a look at four of the best fits for him, starting with a playoff contender in need of help at the receiver position.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are "in the market for a receiver," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's easy to understand why, as DK Metcalf has 27 catches entering Week 9 while the rest of Pittsburgh's wide-outs combined have just 25.

The Steelers have been able to compensate for their lack of receiving depth thanks to their elite tight end corps, but adding a speed threat like Waddle would add another dimension to Pittsburgh's receiver room. He would occupy the No. 2 receiver role currently held by another smaller-sized speedster, Calvin Austin III, but would provide more upside as a proven partner for Metcalf.

New York Giants

The Giants are expected to be "aggressive" in searching for upgrades to their receiving corps after losing Malik Nabers to a torn ACL, per SNY's Connor Hughes.

Could that "big-game hunting" approach lead them to target Waddle? The Giants have been mentioned in connection with the 26-year-old receiver to the extent that he was asked about the rumors ahead of Miami's Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns.
