George Kittle Requested a Bottle of Tequila After Tearing His Achilles During 49ers Playoff Win

The San Fransisco 49ers tight end, 32, suffered a torn achilles during the team's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, and reportedly asked for tequila in the locker room shortly after his exit from the field on Sunday, Jan. 12.

"A San Francisco 49ers employee just walked into the locker room carrying what appeared to be a bottle of tequila. Best guess? It's for George Kittle," Senior NFL Insider Dianna Russini of The Athleticreported on Xduring the game.

Several hours afterward, she shared an update on her social media.

"Here's what I found out: *It was Patron tequila *The bottle was sent from the owner from his suite to Kittle after he requested it *That bottle is now empty,"she wrote on Xlater in the night.

49ers beat reporter David Lombardi tweeted a similar update onhis X account.

After the Achilles tear, Jed York came into the 49ers locker room and asked George Kittle if there's anything he could get him. Within minutes, that bottle of tequila was in the 49ers' locker room.A couple hours later, victory in Philadelphia was secured. A new piece of 49ers…

"After the Achilles tear, Jed York came into the 49ers locker room and asked George Kittle if there's anything he could get him. Within minutes, that bottle of tequila was in the 49ers' locker room. A couple hours later, victory in Philadelphia was secured. A new piece of 49ers legend," he wrote.

Kittle was carted off the field during the second quarter of the 49ers-Eagles game due to his injury, which occurred after the tight end caught a six-yard pass with around six minutes to play before halftime.

During the broadcast, cameras caught Kittle avoiding putting weight on his right leg upon his exit from the cart as he made his way into the 49ers locker room. He was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game.

It was confirmed that Kittle had torn his right Achilles after the catch.

Christian McCaffreyspoke highly of his teammate in hispost-game press conference, though emotionally noted that "it's a tough loss" that Kittle is out with an injury.

"This team has carried the character of George Kittle throughout the entire year, and since I got traded here, he's the heart and soul of this team," the star running back said, adding, "So it's a tough loss, man."

"When he's not playing, he's somebody that you know even going through something that he had to go through and us finding a way to finish, he's the first guy in the locker room smiling," McCaffrey continued. "Bumping music, happy for his teammates."

He concluded, "When you lose a leader like that, you never really lose him because his presence is still in the locker room... He's a leader, heart and soul of this team. So praying for him, love him, we're going to play for him the rest of the way."

The San Fransisco 49ers take on the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday, Jan. 17.
